Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic Grade 3 and Grade 4 Sterilising (CSSD) Technician/s for a full-time position, reporting to the CSSD Manager at Epworth Geelong – Waurn Ponds.
Part-time roles may be considered.
Experience working in CSSD is a requirement.
Your role will contribute to infection prevention and control as well as overall patient safety by ensuring the quality of reusable medical devices through sterilisation and disinfection processes.
The position will work a roster that covers both early and late shifts; all late shifts can be considered if preferred.
You will make an impact by:
Ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of service to meet the specific daily operational needs
Ensuring accurate processes are undertaken and documented
Actively participating in the quality improvement program within the department
Practicing within the requirements of the RMD sterilisation standards and standard operating procedures
To be successful in this role:
You will support the theatre team by collection, cleaning, decontamination, inspection, testing, packing, sterilisation, storage and distribution of reusable medical devices and equipment and will be a proactive member of a self-directed and cohesive CSSD team.
You will be dedicated to quality service provision that aligns with the requirements of relevant regulations and standards, enjoy working independently within a team under the direction of a team leader and department manager, and be committed to quality improvement.
Qualifications & Skills
You will have:
Experience and competence working in all areas of CSSD with an ability to plan, organise and prioritise work
A commitment to excellent customer service and quality improvement
A working knowledge of relevant regulations and standards impacting sterilising services
Demonstrated knowledge in the application of infection prevention and control practices, as well as OHS requirements as they relate to sterilising services
Qualifications:
A minimum Sterilisation Services Certificate III for a Grade 3 position or Certificate IV for the Grade 4 position or equivalent qualification
