Join the team at Ideal Catering Solution PTY LTD in Port Hedland.About the RoleIdeal Catering Solution PTY LTD is seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at a mining accommodation camp.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals for camp residents, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and cook a variety of meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, following set menus and dietary requirements.Prepare and cook "Cook-To-Order Meals" such as grilled steak, grilled chicken, hamburgers, and grilled fish.Assist chefs in preparing main dishes for dinner service (bulk cooking).Prepare root vegetables for roasting, baking, or steaming.Help in preparing desserts (puddings, cakes, custards, jellies).Prepare and cook breakfast service (bulk cooking).Slice deli & cold meats using a machine.Serve food during breakfast and dinner service (Bain Marie/Buffet style).Dishwashing and maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen, pantry, and walk-in cool rooms and freezers.Receive bulk deliveries and monitor temperatures of cool rooms, fridges, sandwich and salad bars, and Bain Marie.Ensure all meals comply with health and safety regulations.Follow portion control guidelines to minimize waste and maintain cost efficiency.Accommodate special dietary requirements and food allergies.Adhere to safety protocols and company policies related to food preparation and kitchen operations.Collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members for efficient service.Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Cook or Camp Manager.Qualifications & ExperienceAt least one year of full-time proven experience as a cook, preferably in a mining camp, remote site, or similar environment.Formal culinary training or relevant certification (Certificate IV in Cookery).Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP certification preferred).Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.Strong teamwork and communication skills.Ability to work on a roster-based schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.Physically fit to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.Valid driver's license.Willing to undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.BenefitsCompetitive salary and benefits package, including accommodation and meals during rostered shifts.
