Location: Tomago, NSW, AU / Tomago, NSW or South Guildford, WA
Reporting to the General Counsel and Company Secretary, as a Senior Legal Counsel you will partner with internal and external stakeholders to provide legal advice on a diverse range of issues across WesTrac's business. You will hone your commercial acumen and negotiation skills during strategic contract negotiations critical to WesTrac's revenue growth and long-term strategy. With the support of WesTrac's General Counsel, you will have everything you need to excel in the role and develop your career.
What You'll Do
* Oversee the negotiation, execution and management of high value, strategic customer sales contracts critical to continued growth.
* Advise on a broad range of matters including disputes and regulatory compliance.
* Provide practical solutions to a diverse range of problems impacting the business.
* Provide thought leadership on legal, risk and compliance matters including the development and provision of training to key stakeholders.
* Ensure WesTrac's compliance with legislative requirements by monitoring legislative changes and implementing appropriate compliance programmes and frameworks.
Skills & Experience
* Strong experience as a qualified legal professional specialising in commercial, corporate, commercial litigation, construction or mining law
* In-house legal experience desirable, but not essential
* Bachelor of Laws
* Admitted as an Australian Legal Practitioner with a current practicing certificate
* Demonstrated negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
* Robust commercial acumen and sound judgement
* Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
* Excellent communication skills in the provision of legal advice
