About the Role
As a Project Manager/Senior Project Manager, you will lead projects from early contractor engagement through to construction and handover. Drawing on your experience as a Superintendent's Representative, you will implement strong project controls, manage contractors, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with scope, budget and program.
You will work closely with head contractors, subcontractors and consultants, providing strategic direction and utilising your technical delivery experience to solve problems, maintain momentum and drive high quality outcomes for clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive program, time, cost, commercial and risk management of all aspects of your projects.
* Coordinate consultants to prepare and progress design, development applications, and tender documentation.
* Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary project approvals, engage government stakeholders, and drive timely delivery of approvals, CC's, OC's and equivalent certifications.
* Prepare and manage consultant and contractor tenders, including compiling RFTs and RFPs, assessing tenders and proposals, supporting contract negotiations and making recommendations on tender outcomes.
* Manage builders under D&C and construct‐only contracts, ensuring delivery against scope, time and budget commitments.
* Act as the Superintendent's Representative—review and assess progress claims, variations, EOTs and other contractual matters in line with contract timeframes.
* Act as the Superintendent's Representative to assess progress claims, variations, extensions of time and other contractual concepts in line with the timeframes specified in the D&C contract.
* Prepare clear monthly progress reports covering program, cost, risk, procurement and delivery status.
* Oversee stakeholder interfaces, ensuring seamless coordination between Landlord, Tenant and Contractor for successful project outcomes.
* Undertake fortnightly site visits for inspections, monthly PCG attendance, and additional visits as needed.
About You
You are an experienced and motivated construction professional with strong delivery capability and confidence acting as the client's representative. You excel in environments where creative thinking and unconventional problem‐solving are essential.
You bring:
* 8–15 years' experience in construction or project management roles, including Superintendent or commercial management duties
* Demonstrated expertise solving complex PM problems and thinking outside of the box.
* Demonstrated experience delivering civil and urban development projects $10- $50M+
* Strong capability in construction contracts, contract administration and design management
* Highly developed stakeholder, communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence consultants and contractors
* Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or similar
