Your Role as a Project Design Electrical Engineer

As an Amazon Fleet Remediation Project Design Electrical Engineer, you will lead design projects in operational data centers, remediate issues, upgrade our existing infrastructure or add new services. You will be the 'go to' engineering resource for these projects and will provide lifecycle support from design through implementation.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Owning the design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions which add data center infrastructure, capacity, improve availability, and/or increase sustainability.
* Preparing/reviewing short circuit coordination studies and maintaining the software models to match as-built site conditions.
* Performing design and equipment submittal review for Data Centers in your region.
* Interfacing with internal and external data center design engineering teams, server hardware teams, environmental health and safety teams, field engineering, and controls engineering to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.
* Working on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.
* Acting as a technical subject matter expert for your given discipline during new remediation projects.
* Supporting construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover.
Your Qualifications
* Possessing strong engineering judgement and being able to provide design and recommendations despite uncertainty.
* Being detail and data-oriented with familiarity with design/construction processes.
* Having experience managing engineering projects and engineering consultants.
* Building trust and relationships with different stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Commissioning, Construction and Design).
* Being inclined to get into the field to see things up close.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
* 8+ cumulative years of design experience with industrial or commercial engineering in Mission Critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation, oil/gas facilities.
* Experience with the design consultant or operation/maintenance or resident design engineer or hands-on (in the field) design consultant of mission critical facilities, especially data centers.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Knowledge of building codes and regulations for ANZ.
* Experience using a variety of web-based software and tools for calculation and data processing mainly ETAP software.
* Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications & submittal documents and ability to carry design concepts through exploration & development into deployment/mass production.
* Having fluent knowledge of continuous operating redundant electrical systems, cooling systems, air flow containment, fire protection systems and EPMS/SCADA/BMS Controls system.
