Join AGRF and Help Shape the Future of Genomics in Australia.
Are you a marketing leader who genuinely understands science, and knows how to turn complex, technically sophisticated ideas into messages that land with clinical, research, and industry audiences?
If you are looking for a role with real strategic weight, genuine ownership, and the chance to help a nationally significant organisation elevate its presence at a critical moment of growth, we'd love to meet you.
About AGRF
AGRF is Australia's largest genomics service provider. For 29 years we have delivered high-quality genomic services across clinical diagnostics, translational research, agrigenomics, academia, and industry, partnering with researchers, clinicians, agricultural scientists, industry partners, and government to drive discovery, innovation, and impact.
We are growing, evolving, and building toward an ambitious future, and we are looking for a Marketing Manager to help take us there.
Why This Role Matters
This is not a role for someone who wants to learn the industry on the job. The breadth is real, the science is complex, and the audiences are sophisticated: researchers, clinicians, pathology providers, agricultural scientists, and government partners. Credibility in this market starts with understanding what we actually do.
You will lead AGRF's marketing function at a genuinely significant moment: new services in development, national partnerships in progress, and a brand and positioning framework being deliberately built for long-term growth.
You won't just run marketing. You will lead it, with increasing ownership and autonomy as you demonstrate your capability, and a clear growth trajectory as the organisation scales.
What You Will Do
* Lead AGRF's annual marketing program across all market segments, aligned to commercial and strategic priorities
* Maintain and evolve AGRF's brand across all channels ensuring accuracy, consistency, and credibility with scientific and clinical audiences
* Translate complex scientific propositions into compelling, audience-appropriate communications across diverse markets
* Oversee day-to-day marketing operations and provide leadership to the Marketing & Events Coordinator
* Use CRM data, campaign performance, and market insights to inform planning and strategy
* Collaborate closely with commercial, scientific, and clinical teams to develop content that is both technically accurate and commercially effective
* Manage AGRF's presence at conferences, events, webinars, and sponsorships across all segments
* Support new service launches with materials that meet the rigour expected in scientific and clinical markets
About You
You are a confident, curious marketing professional who is as comfortable discussing genomics, clinical diagnostics, or agricultural science as you are developing a campaign strategy. You understand that in science-led markets, credibility is everything, and you hold yourself to that standard in everything you produce.
You will bring:
* 5+ years in marketing management, brand leadership, or campaign strategy
* Demonstrated experience in genomics, molecular diagnostics, clinical pathology, agricultural science, life sciences, or a comparably complex science-led environment and a proven ability to market technically sophisticated products or services to scientific, clinical, research, or industry audiences
* The ability to write accurately and compellingly for diverse scientific audiences, without needing extensive technical translation
* Experience developing and executing end-to-end marketing plans that support commercial outcomes
* Strong leadership capability and experience guiding small teams
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, comfortable working across scientific, clinical, commercial, and government contexts
* Experience with CRM platforms (Microsoft Dynamics experience is a bonus)
What You Will Love About Working At AGRF
* A mission-driven organisation making a genuine contribution to Australian science, health, and agriculture
* Extraordinary breadth, no two market segments are the same, and no two days will be either
* A role with true ownership and room to make your mark with a clear growth trajectory as we scale marketing
* Direct partnership with senior leadership on strategy, positioning, and brand
* The opportunity to work alongside some of the most respected scientific and clinical minds in the country
* A team that values rigour, creativity, and curiosity in equal measure
