We invite you to join the Victorian Catholic Education Authority as a Senior Analyst, Accountability Reporting.

What you will do


The Finance and Funding portfolio is responsible for the distribution and stewardship of grant funding to Catholic schools across Victoria in addition to managing VCEA's internal finances and providing strategic guidance to support effective decision-making.

The Senior Analyst, Accountability Reporting operates within the Funding and System Reporting team, in the Finance and Funding Portfolio.

As Senior Analyst, Accountability Reporting you will play a crucial role in ensuring Catholic schools comply with all funding and accountability requirements, and that funding is allocated fairly and used appropriately. Using your experience, you will be a trusted business partner, building effective relationships with relevant stakeholders and providing cross-portfolio funding data and analytics support.

What you will bring


Demonstrated experience in providing expert advice and support in the field of finance or funding compliance, preferably within the education sector or a similarly complex organisational structure.

Experience in the usage of multiple software packages, including Excel Visual Basic (VBA)/ macro developer expertise to provide quality financial information, analysis, and validation tool development.

Advanced analytical, conceptual, project and problem-solving skills with the ability to initiative innovative and practical solutions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, negotiate outcomes, and facilitate resolution of complex issues.

High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality in handling sensitive data.

Proactive approach to continuous learning and professional development, keeping up-to-date with changes in compliance, reporting requirements and industry trends.

Qualifications and Experience


Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting Commerce or a related discipline.

Qualified Accountant - CPA/CA ANZ (desirable)

A minimum of three years' experience in a financial / accounting environment, preferably in the education or other comparable, regulation-centric, industry such as Health, Government or Aged Care.

Expert level skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access, including strong knowledge of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) programming is a mandatory requirement.

Experience in using business intelligence and data visualisation software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlikview).

Microsoft Suite, Microsoft Fabric, ERP applications

Ability to function in time-pressured situations whilst contributing effectively to a team environment whilst seamlessly shifting to working autonomously.
