Glencore Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising vacancies exist for Trades Assistants in the Isa Surface Operations Team.
The Role
Mount Isa Mines is seeking Trades Assistants to join the Isa Surface Operations team. The team delivers bulk materials handling and road maintenance services to multiple departments across the Mount Isa Mine lease. These roles are residentially based in Mount Isa.
These positions will report to the Roads & Waste Supervisor and operate on a 5/2 Day Shift roster (48 hours per week – 4 x 10 hour days and 1 x 8 hour day). Previous forklift experience is advantageous but not essential, with training and development provided for suitable candidates.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Promoting and reinforcing a culture of safety, operational excellence and continuous improvementOperating a variety of mobile equipmentWorking with other departments, contractors and teams to support production targets are safely metMaintaining a high level of safety in the way we workMonitoring, reporting and conducting thorough equipment prestart inspectionSafe operation of machinery across site and positive communication
You will have the following skillset and attributes:
Strong time management skillsAbility to communicate with othersFlexible attitude and sound work ethicAbility to achieve results within the specified time framesStrong customer focus is required as well as a high level of attention to detailAbility to work well within a team environment or with minimal supervisionMust have Manual Open Driver's LicenceProven experience in heavy machinery operations is also advantageous.
