Our service supports consumers under both the Mental Health Act and the Forensic Mental Health Act, helping individuals build the skills, confidence and resilience needed for their recovery journey.
This is an exciting time to come on board. We are actively involved in planning a new, purpose-built facility in the Maitland region, with a transition scheduled for 2027.

About The Role
As a Forensic or Clinical Psychologist within Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services, you will play a key role in delivering evidence-based psychological care in a hospital setting. You'll work with forensic and long-term rehabilitation consumers presenting with complex interpersonal, emotional and behavioural needs within a small psychology team.
For this position we are open to applications from Registrar Forensic/Clinical Psychologists.
Key Responsibilities
* Conducting psychological assessments, diagnosis and treatment
* Developing comprehensive formulations and delivering recovery-focused interventions
* Completing cognitive and psychopathy assessments, including report writing and recommendations
* Working closely within a multidisciplinary team environment
* Supporting positive outcomes for consumers, families and carers
You'll also have the opportunity to further develop specialist skills in forensic assessment.
About You
We are seeking clinicians who bring:
* Experience working with forensic and/or long-term rehabilitation populations in a hospital setting
* Confidence in multidisciplinary team environments
* Insight into forensic presentations and enduring mental health conditions

Requirements
* Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate forensic or clinical psychology qualification of no less than two years full time duration or recognised equivalent, displayed on the Psychology Board of Australia website.
* Generally registered as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia with area of practice endorsement in forensic or clinical psychology.
