A well-established boutique accounting firm based in Surry Hills is seeking a confident and experienced Senior Accountant to join their close-knit team. With two hands-on Partners and a team of 10, this firm has built a strong reputation for delivering practical, commercially focused advice to a broad SME client base across a variety of industries. The Opportunity This role will suit an experienced public practice accountant (5 years) who enjoys managing their own portfolio and working closely with clients. You will have direct access to the Managing Partner, who is present in the office daily and works collaboratively with the team. Key responsibilities will include: Preparing financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals BAS and IAS preparation and lodgement Managing a portfolio of SME clients across diverse industries Providing tax compliance and general business advice Assisting with tax planning matters Supporting and mentoring junior team members as required About You Minimum 5 years’ experience in Australian public practice (Senior to early Manager level) Strong understanding of Australian tax legislation and compliance Solid experience using Xero Confident managing client relationships independently Highly organised with strong attention to detail Comfortable working in a fully office-based environment The Firm This is a collaborative and relaxed office environment where everyone works on-site together, fostering strong teamwork and knowledge sharing.
