Technical Specialist - Technical Professional
As part of the Hunter Class Frigate’s Systems Engineering team, you will be expected to provide assurance and technical advice across a range of Systems Engineering functions including system reviews, requirements management, safety, certification and verification. Working with the wider, multi-discipline team, you will be required to investigate and report on technical issues, including areas of non-conformance and support the management of associated risks. You will also contribute to the maintenance and development of the Engineering Management System, enabling the acquisition of complex warships.
About our Team
The Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) will be one of the most advanced warships in the world with cutting edge technology and capabilities. As Australia’s largest shipbuilding project, HCF provides the foundation for Continuous Naval Shipbuilding in Australia.
We are working with experts from the UK, USA, Canada and Europe to provide six frigates optimised for anti-submarine warfare to the Royal Australian Navy. The frigates are being constructed at the Osborne Naval Shipyard, South Australia utilising the latest production technologies.

Our Ideal Candidate
You should have a strong understanding of Systems Engineering, gained through the acquisition or sustainment of maritime or similarly complex system. An effective communicator, you will be able to tailor your style and language to stakeholders at a variety of levels.
You need to be able to create and maintain professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and be able to work in a collaborative fashion with those stakeholders.
Previous experience in product safety, certification, or environmental compliance will be highly regarded.
