About Electro Optic Systems
Electro Optic Systems (EOS) is an ASX-listed defence and space technology company headquartered in Canberra.
The company is in an exciting growth phase, with large contracts already in place and a significant sales pipeline looking forward. Growth into Europe is underway with new teams being created, while multiple high-value projects are in progress, including a three year $120m high energy laser development project.
As EOS scales internationally, it is embedding stronger systems, processes, and governance to support sustainable growth across its divisions: space systems, and defence systems.
The Opportunity
This newly created Finance Manager role sits above the line and is central to the integrity of group reporting.
Reporting to a highly experienced Senior Finance Manager, you will own the end-to-end month‐end process and deliver consolidated results across the global group. You will see contracts through to completion, ensuring revenue is recognised correctly under AASB 15 and other relevant standards.
This is a pure financial reporting role, highly suitable to auditors seeking to transition or those passionate about financial accounting. You will lead reconciliations, analyse results, strengthen templates and processes, and drive high‐quality financial governance as EOS continues to scale globally, including managing foreign currency and consolidation complexities.
This is an on‐site role based in Symonston, where presence and engagement are critical to your success in the role.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
* Oversee and deliver the consolidated month‐end close within five working days
* Own balance sheet reconciliations and ensure strong financial controls
* Manage half‐year and year‐end statutory reporting requirements
* Apply technical accounting standards, including AASB 15, across complex contracts
* Support audit processes and regulatory compliance obligations
* Contribute to tax compliance and transfer pricing documentation
* Improve reporting templates, policies and processes across the global group
* Drive continuous improvement and financial governance initiatives
The Ideal Person
You are likely stepping in from Manager or Senior Manager level in Big 4 audit or CFO Advisory or operating in a similar technical financial reporting role within a listed or multinational environment.
You are commercially astute but fundamentally a financial reporting / external audit specialist. You enjoy getting under the hood, understanding how a manufacturing or production environment works, and ensuring the accounting treatment reflects operational reality.
You are proactive, critically analytical and prepared to challenge existing practice. You think beyond the numbers, ask better questions and take ownership of outcomes. You are not seeking a short‐term stepping stone, but a role where you can build, shape and contribute meaningfully as the business grows.
Salary / Rate
* $140k – $150k + Super + Benefits
* Free on‐site parking
* Exposure to an ASX‐listed global business
* Opportunity to help shape finance capability during a growth phase
