Key Responsibilities

The Nurse Manager Emergency Department (ED) is a senior member in the nursing leadership team having key responsibilities in managing activities within the ED this includes leading the provision of safe quality patient care and related clinical or operational issues that may occur. The Nurse Manager assumes responsibility for the daily operational functioning of the Emergency Department environment. The role is a key leadership position within the hospital and will drive a strong focus on service improvement and positive cultural change across the services it leads.

Job Requirements
">
* Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); recognised post graduate/tertiary qualifications in health or working towards the same including ongoing engagement in professional development to further enhance their management and leadership competencies.
* Recent management experience in an Emergency Department (ED) within a Tertiary referral hospital demonstrating an understanding of Hospital Access Targets (HATs) review and report on service delivery and action variance and a proven ability to work in partnership with external stakeholders/agencies.
* Proven ability to contribute to and advance the operational/business plans for nursing services coordinate the process of organisational change monitor and evaluate nursing resource allocations within the Emergency setting.
* Experience and demonstrated ability in leading and facilitating quality improvement activities with a demonstrated knowledge of ACHS National Standards accreditation requirements WH&S and infection control principles.
* Actively contribute to a positive workplace culture and lead workforce development and succession planning.
* Demonstrated computer literacy and understanding of hospital information systems and Health Roster.
* Sound knowledge of the Ministry of Health's strategic directions and the nursing and midwifery agenda and its application to the Emergency setting.
