Your new role
As a Prison Exit Housing Worker, you will provide housing information, referral, and assessments in the Ararat and Langi Kal Kal prisons to clients with complex housing needs. In this role, you work to reduce incidents of homelessness and improve the transitional experience of people exiting prison, thereby reducing re‐offending rates through the provision of housing and support.

Your skills and experience
* Tertiary qualifications in human services, welfare or social services, or substantial years of relevant experience.
* Experience and a sound knowledge of the underlying principles of the Prison Exit Program, gained through experience, education and/or training.
* Knowledge and experience of homelessness and housing systems and their impact on people who are part of the justice system.
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
* Knowledge of the statutory requirements related to the Prison Exit Program.
* An understanding of the impacts of homelessness on re‐offending rates of prisoners.
* Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
