MAKE Fencing is a young and fast-growing company based in Bayswater, and we're on the lookout for a skilled Welder/Fitter who's ready to step up and manage our workshop.
This role isn't just about welding — it's about thinking ahead, solving problems, and taking ownership of your space and your work. We want someone who's highly organised, self-motivated, and takes pride in doing things properly.
About the Role
You'll be:
 * Leading workshop operations, including fabrication, materials and workflow
 * Welding and fabricating gates with tight tolerances, precise hinges and latch positioning
 * Managing your own time and workspace with minimal supervision
 * Working closely with the installation team to ensure smooth project handovers
 * Communicating clearly and professionally with clients, suppliers, and team members
 * Contributing ideas, solving problems, and improving processes as we grow
What We're Looking For
 * Proven experience in welding and steel fabrication (especially gates and fencing)
 * Someone who is highly organised, methodical, and detail-focused
 * Experience managing or running a workshop (or ready to step into that role)
 * Ability to read plans, measure accurately, and work with tolerances
 * Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently
 * A sense of humour – we work hard, but we like to have fun doing it
Requirements
 * Construction Induction Safety Certificate (White Card)
 * Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
 * Carpentry experience is a bonus
