We are looking for a skilled Planning Manager to join our team in Saxmundham, supporting the successful delivery of major infrastructure and construction projects.
In this role, you will lead planning activities across the full project lifecycle—from tender stage through to delivery—ensuring programmes are efficient, realistic, and aligned with contractual requirements. You will play a key role in driving project performance, monitoring progress, and supporting decision‐making across project teams.

Duties
* Lead, manage, and mentor a team of planners and engineers
* Develop and maintain detailed project programmes (tender and construction phases)
* Implement and manage progress monitoring systems, including Earned Value Analysis (EVA)
* Identify programme risks and opportunities, and build risk allowances into plans
* Produce clear, accurate reports on project progress, performance, and forecasts
* Ensure programmes reflect safe systems of work and support health & safety requirements
* Work closely with project, commercial, and site teams to align planning with delivery
* Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to agree methodologies and sequencing
* Support commercial teams with programme input into supply chain assessments
* Manage resource planning and cost‐loaded programmes to support cash‐flow forecasting
* Prepare programme narratives and submission documentation
* Promote best practice, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing
* Support the use and development of BIM within project planning
* Contribute to sustainability and carbon reduction targets
Person Specification
Essential:
* Proven experience as a Planning Manager or Senior Planner in construction/infrastructure
* Strong knowledge of planning software (e.g. Primavera P6 or similar)
* Experience with Earned Value Analysis (EVA) and project performance reporting
* Excellent understanding of construction methodologies and project delivery
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Ability to analyse complex data and produce clear, actionable insights
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable:
* Experience working on large‐scale infrastructure projects
* Knowledge of BIM and digital construction tools
* Commercial awareness and experience supporting cost and programme integration
* Commitment to sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives
