About the location
This role is based at our Essendon Fields manufacturing facility, a purpose-built environment supporting large-scale modular construction and advanced production workflows, including integration with our Modbotics robotics team.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Factory Supervisor (Night Shift) to oversee night operations within our factory. Reporting to the Construction Manager, this role is responsible for coordinating production activities, leading employees on shift, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Modscape's quality standards.
Candidates must have experience as manufacturing or factory supervision.
Applicants must be Australian permanent residents or citizens with full working rights in Australia.
You will work closely with Project Supervisors and the Modbotics team to ensure modules move smoothly through each stage of production.
Hours are: 2:30pm -11:00pm
Your day to day will include:
* Coordinating labour and workflow across production areas including framing, cladding, linings, fit-out, joinery and Modbotics integration.
* Communicating daily production goals, sequencing, safety messages and quality expectations.
* Identifying bottlenecks, resolving issues on shift, and escalating risks impacting timelines.
* Conducting quality checks, managing defects, and ensuring stage sign-offs are completed.
* Leading safety compliance on shift, including PPE, housekeeping, hazard reporting and toolbox talks.
* Maintaining current White Card certification for workplace health and safety compliance.
* Supporting employees through clear direction, fair feedback, and on-the-job guidance.
* Ensuring accurate timesheets, orderly shift close-down, and safe handover at end of shift.
What you'll bring
* Previous experience in a factory, construction, modular building or manufacturing supervisory role.
* Strong understanding of production workflows and labour coordination.
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
* Practical knowledge of quality assurance and defect management.
* Solid understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
* Confident communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide and motivate employees.
* Strong problem-solving ability and sound judgement under pressure.
* Trade qualification (carpentry, joinery, fabrication or similar) – preferred but not essential.
* Minimum requirement of a trade qualification in a relevant field.
* Forklift licence, EWP or willingness to obtain – advantageous.
