SEND Teaching Assistant - Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities

Cambridgeshire

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a range of supportive and inclusive schools across Cambridgeshire to recruit experienced SEND Teaching Assistants for both full-time and part-time roles.

We are supporting schools with short-term and long-term staffing needs, working with pupils who have a variety of additional needs including SEND and SEMH. These roles are ideal for Teaching Assistants who are passionate about making a difference and have the experience to confidently support pupils with additional needs.

A full UK driving licence is desirable due to the range of school locations, but not essential.

The Role

* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
* Support pupils with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
* Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored and inclusive learning
* Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
* Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
* Help create a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment

A Typical Day May Include

* Supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis throughout the school day
* Delivering targeted interventions and structured activities
* Assisting with classroom learning and adapting resources
* Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation
* Liaising with the class teacher and SENCO
* Providing feedback on pupil progress and development
* Supporting during transitions, breaktimes, or sensory activities where required

Who We're Looking For

* Essential: strong and recent experience supporting pupils with SEND in a UK school setting
* Confident supporting needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language difficulties
* A calm, patient, and resilient approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A proactive and adaptable attitude
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
* Appropriate qualifications and training for this role
* Commitment to safeguarding and completion of child protection and prevent duty training
