About the role: The Medical Scientist plays a vital role in the delivery of high quality diagnostic services within the field of clinical microbiology and serology. This position requires a tertiary qualification in medical science that is directly relevant to clinical microbiology, along with eligibility for membership with the Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists. The role involves performing laboratory procedures that support accurate serological testing and contributing to the overall diagnostic capabilities of the laboratory.
To be effective in this role, the Medical Scientist uses strong analytical and problem solving abilities to interpret results, troubleshoot issues and maintain the accuracy and reliability of laboratory outputs. High level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential for working with colleagues, clinicians and other stakeholders, ensuring that information is conveyed clearly and professionally.
A commitment to ongoing professional development is also essential, ensuring that skills and knowledge remain current and aligned with advances in clinical science.
