Are you an experienced IT Project Manager with a passion for cyber security uplift initiatives? This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high‐impact program focused on delivering enterprise‐wide security improvements across a large and complex federal environment.
You'll be joining a dedicated team responsible for implementing three key cyber uplift strategies aligned to the Essential Eight framework:
* Application Control – reducing exposure to malicious code and unauthorised applications.
* User Application Hardening – minimising risks stemming from insecure or permissive configurations.
The program follows a risk‐based, prioritised approach. Your work will focus on uplifting cyber maturity across user endpoints, servers, and environments hosting critical production data, with a pathway from Maturity Level 1 to Level 2.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead planning, scheduling, delivery management, governance reporting, and assurance activities.
* Manage risks, issues, scope and change across all project phases.
* Coordinate technical teams to ensure secure, resilient, and auditable solutions are delivered.
* Drive stakeholder engagement with both internal and external partners.
* Ensure alignment with cyber security frameworks and enterprise security standards.
* Oversee project budgeting, resourcing, and progress tracking.
Key Criteria
* Proven experience delivering large‐scale ICT projects within the Australian Federal Government or similarly regulated sectors.
* Solid understanding of cyber security frameworks such as the ISM and Essential Eight.
* Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non‐technical stakeholders.
* A current Baseline security clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
