Job Summary:
The role of Sugar Cane Harvest Worker involves assisting with locomotive and brake wagon services, assembling cane bin rakes for delivery, and inspecting and tagging defective bins. The successful candidate will also be required to train other assistants, assist with locomotive checks and housekeeping, and operate vehicles.
* Work under supervision to ensure efficient service delivery.
* Exercise decision making/responsibility within their level of skill and training to meet operational requirements.
* Demonstrate awareness of general quality control standards to maintain a safe working environment.
* Assist with on the job training to develop skills and knowledge of team members.
* Service and adjust equipment according to their level of skill and training to prevent downtime.
* Demonstrate ability to use common language skills to communicate effectively.
Working Conditions:
The position requires ensuring safety protocols, including permits, risk assessments, and working at heights as necessary. The successful candidate will be paid above the Sugar Industry Award - Level 2, an hourly rate, and seasonal contract with an average minimum of 38 hours per week.
