About the team –

The Events and Sports Camps team is a small team based at the AIS Campus, Canberra. We coordinate and optimise access to the campus venues and facilities for a diverse range of clients including National and State Sporting Organisations, sporting clubs, school groups, tourists, general public, event and sporting promoters. This includes a key focus on providing our clients effective delivery, coordination and superior customer service to run successful camps, conferences, tournaments or events on the Bruce campus, partnering across the ASC to effectively deliver these services for our stakeholders.

About the role –

The AIS is Australia's premier elite sports precinct. The Events and Sports Camps team within the Campus Experience Branch coordinates, optimises and services access to the AIS' high-quality accommodation, venues and facilities for the high performance sport sector, sporting organisations, sporting clubs, general public and other commercial clients.

The role requires the coordination and provision of site facilities and services to ensure the effective delivery and superior customer service experience of all events and sports camp activities held on the AIS campus.

As a Client Service Coordinator you will facilitate sport camps here at the AIS Campus. This is central role that requires you to undertake the following:


• Negotiate and secure clients to the AIS campus to deliver a wide range of events, sports camps and other use of the AIS facilities including but not limited to National Sporting Organisations' Centre of Excellences and high-performance camps, elite sports camps and community facility use.

• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to design, cost, schedule and deliver these activities.

• Manage and resolve facility scheduling and service delivery conflicts that may arise.

• Perform the front of house supervisor role for events as required.

• Maintaining information in the computerised booking management system.

• Administer accounts for client groups.

• Provide high quality customer/client experience.

• Assist with data gathering and analysis to contribute to business planning and performance reporting.

• Work with and through event working groups to achieve project outcomes;

• Assist in the marketing and sale of products/packages.

About you –

As a Client Services Coordinator in the Events and Sports Camps team you will be required to work collaboratively as part of a high performing team; establish and maintain effective partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver high quality business outcomes.

The following attributes are required to be successful in the role:

• Tertiary qualifications or demonstrated experience in business management, sports administration, marketing or project management.

• Demonstrated experience in the tourism, hospitality, venue or event management industry.

• Demonstrated experience working with a booking software system (), event management software or similar business applications.

• Demonstrated experience in bookings and coordination of camps and events within a high-performance sports environment.

• Demonstrated experience in administration of financial accounts.

• Demonstrated experience in providing excellent customer experience and handling sensitive situations in a mature and effective manner.

• Demonstrated experience developing and working within a risk management plan or program.

• To be eligible for employment with the Australian Sports Commission, it is preferred that applicants are Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia.
