Overview Role: Physicians – Pain & Symptom Management/Palliative Care at BC Cancer – Victoria. 0.6 FTE. In this part-time position you participate in the clinical, educational and research activities of the Pain and Symptom Management/Palliative Care team in your centre. You address the palliative care needs of ambulant cancer patients, integrated with oncological management, including those in the survivorship context. You will facilitate a coordinated approach and ensure continuity of palliative care support through effective communication and transfers back to community-level physicians, home care/palliative care services. You will provide consultation and education to BC Cancer care teams and community-based care providers as required, and support and engage in research and education interests in palliative and supportive care. Enhancing awareness and providing public and provider education on palliative care and symptom management for oncology patients rounds out your mandate.

Qualifications
Fully licensed physician as per provincial College of Physicians and Surgeons requirements.
CCFP with Certificate of Added Competency in Palliative Care (CAC); or Royal College background with Palliative Medicine Subspecialty Accreditation or equivalent training and experience.
Eligibility to work in Canada; position may be combined with part-time palliative care work with Island Health (pending FTE availability).
Work Arrangement This is a part-time position (0.6 FTE). May be combined with additional palliative care work with Island Health (pending availability).
