About Alliance – Rockhampton Aviation Maintenance (RAM) Rockhampton Aviation Maintenance (RAM) is a $60M brand-new, three‑bay Base Maintenance facility located at Rockhampton Airport. RAM has been established to provide Base Maintenance services to the Alliance Airlines fleet of Embraer E190 and Fokker 70/100 aircraft. Located in Central Queensland, Rockhampton offers all the cosmopolitan conveniences of a contemporary riverside city and is just 35 minutes from the beaches of Yeppoon. Alliance Airlines is unique in that it owns its entire fleet, currently consisting of 37 Fokker 70/100 aircraft and 31 Embraer E190 aircraft, with firm purchase commitments through to mid‑2026 for an additional 26 E190 aircraft. The Role on Offer
The role of the Trades Assistant is to support skilled tradespersons by performing various preparatory and supportive tasks. The role involves handling tools, materials, and equipment, assisting with maintenance and repair work, and ensuring that work areas are safe and organised.
* Aid tradespeople (such as electricians, plumbers, mechanics, etc.) in their daily tasks.
* Provide necessary tools, materials, and equipment, and help with their setup and maintenance.
* Prepare work sites by gathering and arranging tools, materials, and equipment.
* Clean and organize work areas, including handling waste and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
* Handle, operate, and maintain various hand and power tools under supervision.
* Assist in the calibration, inspection, and upkeep of tools and machinery.
* Adhere to safety standards and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
* Wear and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Assist with lifting, moving, and positioning materials and equipment.
* Manage inventory and report on stock levels, helping with restocking when needed.
* Document work progress, report issues, and track maintenance activities.
* Help with recording and maintaining logs for various tasks.
* Provide general support and perform miscellaneous tasks as directed by tradespeople.
* Assist with training and orientation of new team members if required.
To Be Successful
* Manual driver's licence.
* Ability to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
* Ability to hold a Category 2 Authority to Drive Airside (ADA).
* Attention to detail.
* Willingness to carry out tasks as instructed and show initiative.
* Ability to communicate and work with others.
* Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and in a team‑focused environment.
* Demonstrated commitment to Alliance values – Safety & Performance.
* Pass background checks or medical screenings as required, Drug and Alcohol testing and police check clearance will be part of the recruitment process.
