The Opportunity
Moonee Valley City Council is seeking a motivated and community-focused Traffic and Transport Engineer to join our Traffic and Transport Unit. This role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to the planning, development and management of the municipality's transport network, helping to create safe, sustainable and connected communities.
Working within the Engineering Services & Capital Works Delivery Department, you will investigate and respond to traffic engineering, transport planning, parking and road safety matters, while supporting the delivery of key transport initiatives identified in Council strategies and plans. You will collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, provide expert technical advice, assess development proposals, and contribute to transport capital works projects that improve outcomes for our community.

Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will hold tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, Town/Urban Planning or a related discipline that confers eligibility for membership with Engineers Australia, together with a current Victorian Driver's Licence. You will have knowledge of traffic and transport engineering principles, road safety, parking management and sustainable transport planning, along with experience using AutoCAD, GIS and Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to prepare high-quality reports and communicate complex technical information clearly to a range of audiences. You will be able to build productive relationships with stakeholders, effectively manage competing priorities, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering responsive customer service and positive community outcomes.
