PCA Ground Engineering is a specialist civil and ground engineering contractor delivering complex infrastructure projects across Australia, with strong presence in Queensland & New South Wales.

Due to recent success and being awarded new projects, we are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead civil construction projects end-to-end across regional locations. This is a hands-on, site-based leadership role with accountability for safety, quality, program, cost and commercial outcomes.
Travel & roster requirement (important)
Our work is often in regional areas, so travel is a core requirement of this role. You must be willing and able to work on weekly Drive In/Drive Out (DIDO) rosters or, depending on the projects underway, spend multiple weeks away from home. Rosters and locations will vary based on project needs.
What you’ll be doing
* Lead project delivery end-to-end as the on-site project lead (safety, quality, program, cost and commercial outcomes).
* Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE/IMS requirements (audits, incident investigations, corrective actions).
* Coordinate daily site activities, subcontractors, labour, plant and materials; manage look-aheads and short-term planning.
* Manage technical delivery to drawings, specifications, standards and contractual/regulatory requirements (ITPs/hold points, verification and records).
* Oversee project controls and reporting: forecasting, cost control, progress measurement, risks/issues, RFIs, variations and procurement.
* Act as the key on-site contact for clients and stakeholders; manage approvals, close-out, defects and handover.
* Lead and mentor Site/Project Engineers where allocated.
What you’ll bring
* Proven end-to-end project delivery leadership with accountability for safety, quality, program, cost and commercial outcomes.
* Strong technical capability in civil construction (drawings, specs, standards, approvals).
* Competency in project planning and controls (including MS Project).
* Working knowledge of contract administration (time bars, variations, EOTs, claims/progress claims).
* Strong HSE and quality/IMS knowledge (audits, ITPs/hold points, NCR/defect management).
* Procurement and subcontract management experience.
* Ability to work autonomously in a site-based role in regional/remote locations (including extended time away as required).
Mandatory qualifications
* Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or relevant qualification.
* Construction White Card.
* Current driver’s licence.
* Australian working rights.
* Fit for work and able to travel/work with limited direct supervision.
