This is an exciting opportunity to embark on a career path in Engineering Mechanical, specialising as a Machinist. The apprenticeship will provide you with valuable hands-on experience within the maritime defence industry while earning a competitive wage.
You will gain nationally accredited training, awarding you upon successful completion, a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical with a machinist focus.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Manufacturing Parts: Creating components from raw materials using lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines.
* Reading Drawings: Interpreting engineering plans, blueprints, and specifications.
* Precision Work: Performing highly accurate measurements and fitting parts to tight tolerances (e.g., 0.01-0.02mm).
* Assembly & Fitting: Assembling, fitting, and installing mechanical equipment and components.
* Maintenance & Repair: Servicing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and equipment.
Skills and Qualifications: You should have a sound level of computer literacy, numeracy skills, enjoy problem-solving, be a great team player, and prioritise Health and Safety.
Mentorship and Support: You will be mentored and supported every step of the way by our dedicated Apprentice and Trainee Supervisor.
