Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality research outcomes, developing and teaching courses in physics, and participating in service and engagement activities. They will work collaboratively with colleagues to advance our understanding of solar and stellar phenomena, develop innovative solutions, and foster strong partnerships with industry and academia.
* Design and implement research projects focused on solar and stellar physics, leading to publications in top-tier journals and presentations at international conferences.
* Develop and deliver engaging and effective teaching programs, including first-year courses, that cater to diverse student needs and promote excellence in learning and teaching.
* Contribute to the development of curriculum materials, assessments, and evaluations that align with university and discipline standards.
* Engage with industry partners, stakeholders, and external organizations to establish and maintain collaborative research projects, securing funding and resources to support research initiatives.
* Participate in service and engagement activities, contributing to the growth and reputation of our discipline, and advancing the university's strategic goals.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
* A PhD in Physics or a relevant field, with a strong research track record in solar and stellar physics.
* Recent experience in an academic role, delivering results in research, teaching, and service.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and undertake collaborative research projects, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience in developing and delivering courses in physics, with expertise in course design, pedagogy, and assessment.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment, demonstrating clear communication, mutual respect, and a commitment to gender diversity.
