Job Title:
Housing Officer – Tenancy Services
A Tasmanian not-for-profit housing organization is seeking a Housing Officer to deliver high-quality tenancy services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct property inspections to ensure properties are well-maintained and in line with organizational standards
* Collect rent from tenants on behalf of the organization, ensuring timely payment and minimizing arrears
* Liaise with various stakeholders, including tenants, landlords, and other organizations to resolve issues and address concerns
* Support vulnerable individuals and clients, providing guidance and assistance as needed
* Communicate effectively with colleagues, management, and external stakeholders to promote teamwork and collaboration
* Maintain accurate records and databases to track progress and inform decision-making
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Possess a passion for supporting vulnerable individuals and clients
* Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders
* Have experience working in the social housing sector, with knowledge of relevant policies and procedures
* Be able to work flexibly and support employee well-being, prioritizing workload and managing stress
* Show proficiency in basic computer skills and Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new software and systems quickly
