About the Role
We're looking for a talented and experienced Manager Finance, who will provide expert analysis, advice and recommendations across a range of complex financial issues.
Is responsible for developing and implementing financial policies, procedures and systems to address organisation wide issues and meet the INSW's statutory and NSW Treasury reporting obligations.
Key responsibilities include:
* Support the Financial Controller to develop and maintain internal controls for financial systems ensuring the integrity of financial data for reporting purposes and initiate remedial action to meet audit recommendations.
* Prepare the Annual Financial Statements to ensure statutory requirements are achieved to the satisfaction of the Audit Office and management of Audit and Risk committee requirements.
* Provide expert advice on financial/ accounting policies, processes, practices, chart of accounts, fixed assets and financial compliance issues to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
* Perform key elements of management of financial control for INSW, including blackline (balance sheet) reconciliations, prime reconciliation and journals for non-cash transactions.
* Assist in the provision of advice and delivery on complex infrastructure accounting issues, including asset transfers and sustainability reporting.
* Lead and coach finance staff, including reviewing the outputs of the Financial Accountant and Finance Officer, to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
* Manage competing deadlines, adapt to evolving accounting standards and reporting requirements, and apply your expertise across a range of financial and asset management matters.
About You
You hold a degree in Commerce, Business, or a related field, or bring extensive relevant experience, along with CA/CPA or an equivalent qualification. You have proven experience in financial accounting and a strong understanding of accounting standards in practice. Your ability to communicate effectively and engage with stakeholders is essential, and experience within construction, infrastructure, or asset management is highly regarded.
You possess expertise in internal and external audit processes and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. You are comfortable making independent decisions within agreed work plans and are accountable for delivering high-quality financial outputs. You act with integrity, communicate effectively, work collaboratively, and demonstrate strong analytical and financial skills. Experience in leading process improvements and supporting audit processes is essential.
