Time commitment for this role
If you have a couple of hours per week available and would love to chat and be a part of a men's group with our residents, we would love to hear from you! This could include simple demonstrations or easy activities to keep the residents stimulated. Activities could include building easy model cars or planes, fishing, fixing things, small projects gardening or painting for the common areas, game of pool or ping‐pong, coffee and chats, watching some footy matches (you may also have some great ideas).
Other types of activities you could be involved with
Amana Living volunteers work alongside the allied health team. For one‐on‐one visits you can be involved in activities like chatting together, board games, reading magazines, newspapers, discussing books, simple art and craft, listening to music, watching movies, and if you have a hidden talent such as chess, knitting or gardening please let us know. Smiling and laughing are contagious – make a difference in someone's life today.
If you would like to assist in group activities, these are scheduled at specific times and days and can include bingo, bus trips, pamper sessions, art and craft, cooking, quizzes, walking groups and so much more.

Amana Living volunteers are kind, compassionate and have a passion for creating a community for our residents, sharing their time to encourage smiles, laughter and enrich their lives with social interactions. We can usually fit around your schedule.
How it works
The first step is to apply online at the Amana Living website under Volunteer. You will be required to create a profile and fill in an application directly through Amana Living. We support you through the whole process. We have a meeting with you about the roles available, locations, your interests and compliance required. All volunteers receive orientation at site, further training when required, support and access to current information on volunteering and aged care. References are available upon request.
At Amana Living, volunteers become part of the team, making a real difference and enjoying the positive reward of the Amana Living Community. Our volunteers also have opportunities to connect with other like‐minded individuals at regular social events during the year.
