Town Planner Position
As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our city through effective urban planning.
* Responsibilities:
o Permits and Coordination:
Assist with issuing town planning permits and coordinating input from various departments and stakeholders.
o Advisory Services:
Provide expert advice to clients and stakeholders on planning policies and procedures.
o Community Engagement:
Represent the city in public forums and proceedings, and assist with heritage preservation, gaming, and liquor control advice.
o Policy Development:
Support the development and review of policies and maintain effective administrative systems.
To succeed in this role, you will need a tertiary qualification in town planning or urban studies, along with:
1. Theoretical and practical knowledge of town planning legislation and practices.
2. Awareness of current trends and issues affecting town planning.
3. Strong analytical, investigative, interpretative, and problem-solving skills.
4. Ability to manage change and be innovative.
5. Highly developed computer skills.
6. Ability to effectively plan, organize, and manage your time to achieve targets within a set timetable.
