Overview
Fairfield High School is a large, inclusive comprehensive secondary school located in south‐west Sydney, educating approximately 1,100 students. The school prioritises explicit, language‐rich teaching, high‐impact EAL/D pedagogy, and evidence‐based practice, supporting student growth and academic success. Facilities include an Intensive English Centre and support classes for students with intellectual disabilities and autism.

Salary range: base $90,177 – $137,861 (total remuneration up to $156,253, including leave loading and superannuation).
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver explicit instruction in information literacy, inquiry and research skills, and the study and appreciation of literature.
* Evaluate, select, acquire, catalogue and maintain a diverse range of high‐quality resources in multiple formats (digital tools, online databases, print collections) to support curriculum and student learning needs.
* Manage both the physical and virtual library environment, including collection management, budgeting, and administration of library management systems such as Oliver.
* Promote and sustain a whole‐school culture of reading by engaging students and staff in rich literary experiences, reading initiatives and programs that support lifelong reading habits.
Qualifications
* Unconditional full approval to teach Library with the NSW Department of Education.
* Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with classroom teachers to plan and deliver instruction in information literacy, inquiry and research skills, and the study and appreciation of literature.
* Proven ability to evaluate, select, acquire, catalogue and maintain a diverse range of high‐quality resources in multiple formats, including digital tools, online databases and print collections.
* Capacity to manage both the physical and virtual library environment, including collection management, budgeting, and administration of library management systems such as Oliver.
* Capacity to promote and sustain a whole‐school culture of reading by engaging students and staff in rich literary experiences and reading initiatives.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
