McBurney Engineering is a well-established, locally owned and operated CNC machine shop based in Paget. Operating for over 15 years, we specialise in jobbing work across CNC lathes, CNC milling machines, and CNC horizontal borers.
We proudly service a wide range of industries throughout the Mackay region and have built a strong reputation for quality workmanship and reliability.
About the Role
We are seeking a permanent Trade Qualified Fitter & Turner with CNC experience to join our skilled and supportive team.
This role requires someone confident in programming, setting, and operating CNC machines while maintaining high standards of precision and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
* Program, set, and operate CNC lathes
* Operate CNC vertical and horizontal machining centres
* Read and interpret technical drawings
* Perform precision machining to job specifications
* Work to customer drawings and tolerances
* Maintain high attention to detail and pride in finished work
* Plan and complete jobs independently when required
* Adhere to safety and quality standards
* Contribute positively as part of a team
Minimum 38 hours per week
Overtime available (penalty rates apply)

Skills & Experience Required
* Australian Recognised Trade Certificate – Machinist / Fitter & Turner
* Proven CNC experience (essential)
* Strong work ethic and "can-do" attitude
* Good communication skills
* Ability to work in Australia (preferred)
