Our client, a well-regarded national not-for-profit organisation, is seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Wellbeing Officer to lead and strengthen a proactive safety culture across the organisation.
This is a key standalone role partnering closely with leadership to provide specialist WHS advice, coaching and practical support to ensure compliance, continuous improvement and a strong wellbeing focus.
About the role
* Reporting to the Manager, People & Operations, you will:
* Lead implementation of the organisation's WHS strategy and annual plan
* Develop, review and embed safe work procedures and policies
* Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations and compliance audits
* Manage WorkCover claims and return-to-work programs
* Coordinate emergency management processes and workplace inspections
* Deliver WHS training and toolbox talks
* Support psychosocial risk management and employee wellbeing initiatives
* Maintain WHS reporting, analytics and performance data
* Partner with leaders to ensure compliance with Australian WHS legislation and best practice
* This role supports the full employee lifecycle - from onboarding and inductions through to ongoing training, wellbeing programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
About you You will bring:
* Minimum 4+ years' experience in a WHS role
* Strong working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation
* Experience managing WorkCover claims and return-to-work programs
* Demonstrated experience in audits, risk management and compliance
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and coach leaders
* Cert IV in Workplace Health & Safety (or similar qualification)
* Current Working With Children Check, National Police Check and Driver's Licence
* Experience within community, government or purpose-driven environments will be highly regarded.
