FEMALE PART-TIME DISABILITY SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL – NORMANHURST (32 HOURS)
We are looking for a motivated, caring, and skilled person to provide support to a group of clients with intellectual disabilities living within a home in Normanhurst. The clients enjoy exploring sensory activities, cooking, arts & craft, spending time with families and community activities. They require support with complex behaviours and assistance in engaging in meaningful activities.
Responsibilities
* Support and encourage clients to participate in activities within the home and in the wider community.
* Provide personal care support (toileting, showering, grooming and dressing) where this is part of the client's person‐centred plan.
* Use the manual handling techniques specified in a client's comprehensive person‐centred plan.
* Transport clients to appointments or activities using vehicles or public transport as required.
* Support clients and interact with their family members and other stakeholders respecting their dignity, cultural background and religious beliefs.
* Assist in developing, implementing, maintaining and reviewing each client's person‐centred plan and behaviour support plan.
* Work cooperatively as part of a team and treat all colleagues with respect.
* Respond to all incidents and injuries in accordance with Unisson's policies and procedures and the NDIS Quality Safeguards Standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Willingness to work shift work including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
* Required to hold an NSW Driver's Licence (P2/Full).
* Willingness to drive an Unisson vehicle.
* High levels of enthusiasm, initiative and a positive attitude.
* Emotional intelligence, resilience and capacity to perform the required work.
* Prior experience working with people with disabilities or in a similar role (desirable).
* Certificate III and/or IV in Disability (desirable).
Working Hours and Shift Pattern
32 hours per week, primarily overnight and sleep‐over shifts. Detailed schedule includes:
* Week 1 – Wednesday 2:00 PM–8:00 PM (6 hrs); Thursday 2:00 PM–6:00 AM (8 hrs sleep‐over); Friday 2:00 PM–6:00 AM (8 hrs sleep‐over); Saturday 2:00 PM–7:30 PM (5.5 hrs).
* Week 2 – Friday 6:00 AM–10:30 AM (4.5 hrs).
