The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) is the leading advocate for surgical standards, professionalism and surgical education in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. The College is a not-for-profit organisation that represents more than 8600 surgeons and 1300 surgical trainees and Specialist International Medical Graduates.
RACS also supports healthcare and surgical education in the Asia-Pacific region and is a substantial funder of surgical research. There are nine surgical specialties in Australasia being: Cardiothoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery.
About the role
You will support key financial processes including expense management, month-end reconciliations, creditor and vendor management, and external reporting. You will bring practical accounting experience, a solid attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
In this role, you will manage employee and third-party expense reimbursements, oversee vendor setup, and assist with month-end bank and creditor reconciliations. You\'ll also support the preparation of compliance reports, annual statutory reporting, and budgeting processes. Additionally, you’ll provide backup during staff leave and contribute to ongoing finance projects.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in an assistant accounting role within a medium-sized organisation.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent communication and time management abilities.
- Experience in general ledger account reconciliations.
- Progress towards an accounting or business-related qualification (desirable)
- Experience in both accounts payable and receivable (desirable)
