About us:

Central Queensland Health's Workforce Division plays an integral role in the effective management of the people resources for our service. The Division takes the lead role in the attraction, retention, learning and development, performance, discipline, change management, safety and well-being, and engagement of our most important asset - “our people”.

The Workforce Division Unit comprises approximately 40 human resource practitioners who provide a high quality, client focused and value adding human resource service to management and staff throughout the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS).

About the role:

Lead and manage Safety & Wellbeing Advisors, including recruitment, mentoring, coaching, performance management, and building team capability and effectiveness. Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of governance and compliance frameworks, including integrated systems, auditing programs, and performance reporting. Provide governance and quality assurance for safety management systems, ensuring accurate WHS documentation, effective communication, and secure, reliable online platforms. Drive service improvement and compliance initiatives, including evaluating systems and workflows, identifying risks and opportunities, and implementing mitigation and change strategies. Lead the delivery of key WHS projects within agreed timeframes, ensuring outcomes meet best practice standards, organisational needs, and are sustainable in a healthcare environment.

About you:

While not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be well regarded. Demonstrated knowledge and application of contemporary health, safety and wellbeing practices, legislation, standards and emerging trends. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and best practice approaches to support a safe and healthy workplace. Practical experience in developing and implementing governance systems, risk management processes, auditing, inspections and problem-solving methodologies. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, manage and support a client focussed team capable of meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards. Advanced interpersonal skills including conflict resolution, negotiation, consultation and verbal and written communication skills to manage people, situations and relationships flexibly and responsively.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $152,772 p.a is comprised of:

An hourly rate between $63.04 - $67.53 p.h. 12.75% employer superannuation contribution17.5% leave loading
