Overview

Teacher - Primary - Education Support - Kindergarten. This is a 9 month fixed term, part-time (0.6 FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2026 with possible extension and/or permanency.

Note: This position is advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers. A mandatory CV template is provided for use. Application requirements include character limited responses addressing 2 Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) domains at application stage. The remaining AITSL domain will be assessed during further assessment for shortlisted applicants.

The Role

Karratha PS is seeking a dedicated part-time Kindergarten and Education Support Teacher to join our team. As an Inclusive School Model with an endorsed Education Support program, the school caters for mainstream students, education support students and those with additional needs within a cohesive mainstream environment. This role includes teaching in both a mainstream Kindergarten classroom and the Education Support setting. The position is advertised as 0.6 FTE, with a strong likelihood of being able to offer increased hours.

Quality Teaching

Our teachers develop knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and differentiate the curriculum to cater for Kindergarten to Year 6 students. We focus on high quality teaching, closing the gap, and enabling students to thrive. We use an evidence-based instructional model and the priority areas identified in Teaching for Impact. This is supported through coaching with Shaping Minds. We deliver学习 to be responsive to diverse needs using trauma-informed practices including the Berry Street Education Model. Our staff are supported through in-school coaching and mentoring tailored to individual needs.
