About the opportunity
The Learning Innovation Office (LIO) plays a pivotal role in advancing the University of Sydney Business School education agenda. It brings together contemporary education design, media and digital capability, and a strong focus on an outstanding student experience to support the development of scalable, high-impact programs for modern learners across a portfolio of future-focused initiatives.
Join us as the Manager, Education Design and Delivery, where you will shape innovative learning experiences and drive key strategic initiatives. Working with stakeholders across the Business School, you will lead the design and delivery of high‑quality, pedagogically aligned programs and courses.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
* provide leadership and strategic oversight, working closely with the Chief Learning Innovation Officer, project leads and key stakeholders to communicate progress, risks, and delivery outcomes, and translate strategic priorities into clear delivery roadmaps
* lead the design and delivery of high‑quality learning experiences, overseeing end‑to‑end curriculum and assessment design, ensuring constructive alignment, evidence‑based pedagogy, and user‑centred learning across the LMS and related tools
* drive excellence in learning technologies and standards, ensuring effective use of platforms, multimedia, accessibility, and compliance with institutional and external requirements
* lead complex, multi‑stream projects, managing scope, timelines, risks, dependencies, and governance across faculties and central units
* manage and develop a high‑performing team of learning designers and educational technologists, providing coaching, workload planning and capability development.
About you
* relevant tertiary qualifications or an equivalent combination of training and experience
* strong expertise in contemporary learning and teaching, including blended/online pedagogy, learning theories, constructive alignment, competency mapping and outcome‑based education
* proven capability in curriculum and assessment design, integrating multimedia and user‑centred learning across the LMS and connected tools
* demonstrated project and change leadership in complex environments, including budget, procurement, risk and governance management
* advanced stakeholder and relationship skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and work effectively in a matrixed organisation
* experience leading and developing high‑performing education design teams
* proficiency with learning technologies and relevant standards, including accessibility and compliance requirements
* a data‑informed approach to continuous improvement, using learning analytics and student feedback to enhance learning experiences.
