The Opportunity
We are expanding our Brisbane and Gold Coast operations and seeking two experienced Major Works Supervisors to join our dynamic team:
* Major Works Supervisor – New Build/Commercial Construction
* Major Works Supervisor – Insurance Projects

Key Responsibilities
* Communication – Maintain proactive, professional, and transparent communication with clients, trades, consultants, and internal teams.
* Preparation – Review and understand the full project scope or insurance claim before commencement to ensure smooth delivery.
* Quality Control – Oversee trades, suppliers, and site activities to maintain NthStar's premium standards and exceed client expectations.
* Scheduling – Develop clear, efficient programs that ensure timely and KPI-compliant project completion.
* Budget Management – Monitor and control all costs, ensuring projects are delivered profitably and within agreed budgets.
* Compliance & Safety – Uphold company and legislative safety standards, quality systems, and environmental requirements.
* Leadership – Foster a positive site culture built on teamwork, respect, and accountability.
* Consultant Coordination – Liaise with architects, engineers, and certifiers to ensure design documentation aligns with project delivery and site conditions.
* Design Review – Assess buildability and provide practical feedback during design and pre-construction phases.
* Documentation Control – Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure accuracy before implementation.
* Value Engineering – Identify cost-effective construction methods, materials, and sequencing options.
* Compliance Review – Ensure all D&C works adhere to regulatory codes, Australian Standards, and contractual obligations.
Skills & Experience
* Building Supervisor Licence (Required)
* Minimum 5+ years' experience in construction supervision — residential, commercial, or insurance
* Proven background in either Insurance Building or New Build/Commercial Construction
* Strong understanding of Design & Construct project delivery
* Ability to interpret and coordinate architectural, structural, and services documentation
* Sound knowledge of NCC, BCA, and relevant Australian Standards
* High level of computer literacy including project management and construction software
* Skilled in contract administration and variation control
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
* Highly organised with strong time management and attention to detail
* Ability to lead teams independently while supporting broader company goals
* Demonstrated commitment to client satisfaction and company values
* Australian citizenship is required for this position
