About the organisation

An exciting opportunity exists to work for one of Southwest Queensland's most dynamic and responsive community organisations, Lifeline Darling Downs and Southwest Queensland Limited (LDDSWQL). Due to growth in our business and exciting movements in our team, we are currently recruiting for a fixed term HR Officer, with the potential for a contract extension.

The role

This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and motivated People & Culture / HR professional to join our team on a fixed-term basis, with the potential to transition into a more senior role. You’ll provide day-to-day HR coordination support while also contributing to a range of projects that will enhance our people processes and volunteer program.

How will you do this?

- Partner with managers on recruitment activities including vacancy management, onboarding, and compliance checks (Police and Bluecard).

- Manage the administration of Connx (HRIS), including audits, helpdesk support, document uploads, and employee data reporting.

- Coordinate the rollout of training and policy updates, ensuring staff acknowledgment and compliance.

- Support payroll record archiving and employment contract management.

- Assist with policy development, position description audits, and process mapping across P&C; functions.

- Contribute to the development and revamp of the Volunteer Program, aligned with National Volunteering Standards.

- Support the implementation of a new organisational structure within Connx.

About you

We’re looking for someone with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance routine administration with project work. You’ll be proactive, approachable, and comfortable working with managers and staff across all levels.

You will bring

- Previous experience in HR / People & Culture coordination with a desire to grow

- Familiarity with HRIS platforms (experience with Connx highly regarded).

- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.

- A keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to data management.

- Sound understanding of recruitment, onboarding, and compliance processes.

- Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to build and sustain positive relationships across teams.

- Initiative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to suggest improvements to processes.
