What's the role?
This is a full-time, Sydney-based opportunity to join Westpac's Chief Investment Office in a high-impact role where financial markets meet strategic decision-making. As Associate Director, you'll be instrumental in managing global macro risks across the bank's balance sheet, from interest rate and foreign currency exposures to liquidity and funding optimisation. You'll execute hedging strategies, analyse performance, forecast cashflows, and support pricing and issuance on behalf of Westpac and Westpac Securities New Zealand Limited. You'll be working closely with a team of market professionals, in the office five days a week, with flexibility when needed. What do I need?
To thrive in this role, you'll bring a strong mix of analytical thinking, market insight, and a collaborative mindset. We're looking for someone who's curious, detail-oriented, and confident navigating complex financial environments. Ideally, you'll have:
* Advanced analytical skills and experience working with financial data and modelling
* Strong understanding of FX, interest rate derivatives, and liquidity management
* Proven ability to price and execute financial market transactions with precision
* High proficiency in Excel; programming skills (e.g. Python, VBA) are a valuable bonus
Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to risk management and problem-solving
