Hays is currently working with a Federal Government Department that plays a key role in shaping Australia's future through innovative policies and programs. The Physical Security team responsible for the maintenance of security systems and security-related projects across department sites nationally are seeking an APS6 Physical Security Systems and Project Officer.
Your new role
This Security Advisor position plays a vital role in protecting and ensuring a robust security culture across the agency.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Management of day-to-day physical security operations, including Secure Containers, Keying systems, Security Alarms and Electronic Access Control, Guard Services, Intruder Detection and CCTV systems.
* Collect, interpret, evaluate and process protective security requirements in accordance with the Policy and Guidelines.
* Assist in the preparation of high-level reports and briefing papers
* Assist in the development and implementation of security governance, including physical security policies
* Collaborate with stakeholders on security policies and procedures
* Develop and implement innovative, risk-based security management approaches
* Provide strategic advice on physical security matters
* Train and develop security team members
* Manage the security helpdesk inbox and delegate tasks
What you'll need to succeed
* The ability to successfully manage projects, including planning, execution and monitoring
* Demonstrated experience in providing protective security practices, preferably within Commonwealth Government
* Knowledge of the Protective Security Policy Framework, guidelines and procedures
* Demonstrates sound judgment, flexible can-do attitude and deadline-driven approach
* Ability to work collaboratively and cohesively with a growing, diverse team of APS staff
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively engage and liaise with colleagues, senior managers, external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
* Ability to prioritise, manage competing tasks and work to deadlines
* Capability to identify and manage security incidents, including analysis and investigation
* You must be an Australian Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 Security Clearance.
