Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including allied health, primary care, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training.
In December 2024, HCA commenced providing health, mental health and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention network. Our team, which includes nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals, offers a wide range of healthcare services to detainees, such as triaging, medication, wound management, immunisation, and other clinical procedures. HCA also introduced a Virtual Care Centre (VCC), a 24/7 service that provides remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations, helping to enhance onsite care for detainees.

Enhancing health outcomes for individuals in detention through comprehensive and sustainable healthcare solutions.
Ensuring timely access to the most appropriate healthcare services, including general medical practice, nursing, drug and alcohol support, and allied health services.
Delivering care that respects and acknowledges the dignity, culture, values, beliefs, and rights of detainees.

Qualifications

This opportunity is ideal for someone with prior experience in the following areas:
General unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)
Relevant post-graduate qualification (desirable)
Skills
Ability to prioritise, work independently, and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Strong communication skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions
Adaptability and flexibility to accommodate changes and provide responsive services to meet the needs of detainees
Proficient in computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and database management)
Experience
At least five (5) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse, including hands-on patient care in an operational setting (non-Telehealth-only)
Knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues in drug and alcohol-related health services
Ability to understand and apply relevant Commonwealth and State legislation, policies, standards, guidelines, and frameworks to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations
