This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Full Time, Fixed Term Part Time or Casual appointments at various hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 31/12/2025.
Position Profile: As a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Mental Health focusing on infants, children, and adolescents, you will play a pivotal role in delivering community-based mental health nursing services. Your responsibilities will include coordinating referrals, conducting comprehensive mental health and risk assessments, and providing case management to complex clients. You will also engage with various stakeholders to offer support and develop prevention programs that cater to the needs of our young population and their families.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate referrals and assess appropriateness for infants, children, and adolescents through the SWMH Duty Officer role.
* Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including crisis intervention for at-risk clients.
* Provide crisis consultation and management advice to emergency departments and assist with inpatient admissions.
* Develop and maintain a network with schools, healthcare providers, and community organisations.
* Act as a clinical resource to team members and participate in inter-agency case conferences.
Ideal Candidate
* Extensive experience as a Community Mental Health Nurse with a focus on triage and case management.
* Proven communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clinical coaching and leadership.
* Advanced knowledge of the implementation of the Mental Health Act and related legislative policies.
* Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
* Demonstrated success in working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Current understanding of Equal Opportunity, Disability Services, and Occupational Safety and Health regulations.
* Passion for continuous professional development and quality management processes.
