Campaigns Practice
CT Group's Campaigns practice combines regulatory affairs, media management, government relations, public policy, advertising, digital and social media, and campaigns management into a coordinated effort to solve some of the most complex and pressing problems for our clients.

Position Overview
Due to continued client growth, we are expanding our media team and looking for an additional Media Manager to join our Sydney office within our Campaigns team, with a specific focus on media relations, proactive pitching and integrated communications strategy. The Media Manager will lead day‐to‐day media activity across a portfolio of corporate and political campaign projects, building journalist relationships, developing compelling story narratives and delivering media outcomes aligned to client objectives.
Key responsibilities
* Building and maintaining relationships with journalists, editors and media contacts across print, broadcast and digital outlets.
* Proactively developing and pitching compelling media angles and story narratives aligned to client campaign objectives.
* Writing and distributing media pitches, press releases, op‐eds, talking points and holding statements.
* Developing integrated media strategies as part of broader campaign plans, mapping media landscapes and identifying key outlets and influencers.
* Preparing spokespeople for media interviews, including briefing documents and key messages.
* Monitoring daily media coverage and producing regular coverage reports, clip summaries and sentiment analysis.
* Supporting issues management and crisis communications response.
* Coordinating across internal teams — including digital, research and campaigns — to ensure media activity is fully integrated.
* Presenting media strategies, results and recommendations to clients.
* Contributing to the development and application of the CT Way Methodology across media and communications projects.
Skills
The successful candidate will be an experienced media professional with strong journalist relationships, exceptional written communication skills and the ability to develop and execute integrated media strategies in a fast‐paced, high‐pressure environment. The ideal candidate will have a sharp news sense and a curious mindset, and should possess the following:
* 3–5 years' experience in media relations, public relations or a similar strategic communications role.
* Demonstrated experience coordinating proactive media pitches with measurable outcomes.
* An established network of journalist and media contacts across relevant beats and outlets.
* Strong understanding of the Australian media landscape across print, broadcast, digital and trade outlets.
* Excellent written communication skills, including press releases, pitches, op‐eds and media briefing materials.
* Experience advising on and managing issues and crisis communications.
* Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, both internally and externally.
* Familiarity with media monitoring platforms and coverage reporting tools.
* Strong organisation, adaptability and ability to perform under pressure.
* A high level of professionalism and confidentiality is a prerequisite.
* Experience in political campaigning or government communications is desirable.
