If you have experience working as a
Support Worker
are qualified with a Cert III in Aged Care, Community Support or related field, and enjoy variety in your day, you might be exactly the person we're looking for
As part of our team in
Hamilton North
Newcastle
we are looking for Social Activity Group Support Worker to work on a part-time ongoing basis (Mondays and Fridays), assisting customers to maintain and develop their independence to lead an enriching and fulfilling life.
What you\'ll be doing
This position will be a part of the
Social Activity Group
with the key focus being to work alongside older people whilst they participate in a range of activities to enable their identified needs and goals to be fulfilled, and to facilitate their access and participation in their community.
Although a typical day might be hard to come across, you will regularly be working alongside one other Support Worker to
engage with the clients in groups
on outings
as they challenge their minds in a variety of activities.
About you
In line with your commitment to customer care, you will have :
Experience working with older adults.
Certificate III (Aged Care, Community Support) or greater (or a commitment to complete within 12 months of commencing in the position).
A proven ability to communicate effectively.
The ability to follow and implement individual service plans, healthcare, and positive behaviour support plans.
A desire to use your skills and experience creating fun and interesting activities that support older adults to engage more consistently with their community and peers.
A positive and energetic approach to engaging with your team and clients.
A valid driver\'s licence.
