Where You'll Be Working

Kurri Kurri District Hospital is a small, close-knit community hospital that plays a vital role in promoting the health and wellbeing of local residents. As a community hospital, teamwork is at the heart of what we do, creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all staff members. The hospital operates a busy operating theatre five days per week and offers free onsite parking for staff.

About The Role

As a Wardsperson, you will play an important role in supporting patient care and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the hospital.

In This Role, You Will

Safely transport patients between wards and theatres
Assist with patient hygiene and contribute to maintaining a clean and safe environment
Respond to emergencies and incidents with urgency and professionalism
Follow proactive practices to enhance patient experience and care delivery

You will be supported by the Site Nurse Manager and Nurse Unit Manager, who are encouraging, caring and committed to open and honest communication. Full orientation and training will be provided, along with ongoing support to ensure you feel confident and capable in the role.

About You

You are a reliable and professional team member who:

Demonstrates a strong commitment to patient safety and care
Works well within a team environment
Responds calmly and effectively in urgent situations
Is willing to work shifts across a 7-day rotating roster
Is flexible and willing to work across other locations within Hunter New England Local Health District
