About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Oral Health Therapist /Hygienist to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with and support our dentists, with the opportunity to take on independent responsibilities when the doctor is offsite. This position offers a diverse range of task and opportunities for professional growth in a modern and supportive environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance the patient experience while expanding your skills in all areas of dental treatment with particular emphasis on implants, periodontics and orthodontics.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Educating patients on oral hygiene practices, ensuring they understand how to maintain optimal oral health.
• Bonding of orthodontic appliances, including labial and lingual braces, expanders, Herbst, TADs supported appliances, fixed retainers and providing orthodontic appliance instructions, removing braces and orthodontic appliances.
• Assisting our dentists with clinical procedures, including but not limited to, placing brackets, changing wires, adjusting orthodontic appliances and monitoring progress.
• Taking 3D scans, CBCT, and photos.
• Providing supportive care to patients, helping manage discomfort or concerns related to their ongoing treatments.
• Working independently when the Doctor is offsite, ensuring smooth daily operations and patient care.
• Maintaining accurate patient records.
• Participating in ongoing professional development to stay up to date with advancements in dental treatment.
• Promoting a positive and supportive environment for patients, helping to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable treatment experience.
To be successful, you'll need:
• A qualification as an Oral Health Therapist or Hygienist, with registration through AHPRA.
• Indemnity Insurance.
• A NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC).
• At least 12 months of experience in private practice
• Collaborate effectively within a team and adhering to instructions.
• Confidence to work autonomously.
• A strong work ethic, excellent organisational skills, and initiative.
• Exceptional communication skills and a commitment to outstanding customer service.
• A willingness to learn and embrace modern technology.
• Orthodontic experience is ideal
